How to use android mobile as a modem to connect Internet from PC (Tethering)

I did this in my Samsung galaxy S GT I9003. Hope this will be same for other android mobiles also. "Or at least for Samsung android mobiles"

For Windows XP :

1. Install the softwares (Samsung kies) from the cd which you got along with the mobile.

2. Now acivate Data network mode in mobile and connect it to pc through USB cable and don't select any options from the displayed window in mobile.

3. close the window by pressing back or Home key.

4. Now go to settings --< Wireless and Network --> Tethering and set the option on.

5. It will take some one or two minutes to connect, if not connecting unplug cable from pc and plug it again and repeat steps 3 and 4.

6. Now check the Network connections in Control panel and you can see your newly created connection.

I Tried this method in windows 7 also and it is working. If it is not working for you than follow the below one.

For windows 7

1. Install the softwares (Samsung kies) from the cd which you got along with the mobile.

2. Now acivate Data network mode in mobile and connect it to pc through USB cable and select Samsung kies from the displayed window in mobile.

3. Now go to tethering in samsung kies.

4. Give settings as per your sim card provider and connect.

5. You will get connected.
